GameInformer online are reporting that sources close to them are revealing that Eidos are pushing the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum back into the fourth quarter of 2009.

Originally planned for a mid June release, if Arkham Asylum is pushed back till the fourth quarter, it would be for no other reason than to hold their title back until the festive period to maximise profits. Whilst in practice that may seem like a good plan (from a business perspective) but we all know what happened last year.

Eidos, now owned by Square Enix, were unwilling to comment on the speculation.

When we hear anything concrete, we'll be sure to keep you informed.
